Local JPEG IPTC reader
Read IPTC authors, captions, keywords and copyright claims
Inspect JPEG APP13 Photoshop IIM datasets. UTF-8 is decoded when the resource declares it. Unknown encodings keep their original bytes and a labeled byte preview. Stored author and copyright fields do not verify ownership.
The examples are project-authored with fictional metadata. Only IIM resources are decoded; other Photoshop resources and IPTC stored in XMP are outside this tool. No image or fields are uploaded.
Supported files and output
JPEG APP13 Photoshop IRB/IIM only, up to 20 MiB. Displays actual dataset occurrences, declared character encoding, raw bytes and source offsets. Repeated keywords remain repeated. Unknown encodings retain raw bytes and a labeled preview; stored creators or copyright strings do not authenticate ownership.
Read the result with its coverage
Stored fields can be edited, copied or removed. A successful read describes the selected file’s supported containers; missing fields cannot be recovered from its pixels. A damaged or unsupported container has its own result. Review private values before copying or sharing a report.
These file operations run locally. The separate image checker can send file-header data and a reduced image copy for a model reading. Read the method and limitations when that is the task you need.

- Photo metadata tasks: dates, orientation, thumbnails and batch handoffs — Choose a local workflow for photo dates, timezones, display orientation, embedded thumbnails, batch metadata reports and verified cleaning copies.
- Inspect EXIF, XMP and IPTC in the same image — Read a known JPEG in three local viewers, compare its deliberately different author and caption declarations, and export each result with its original source context.
- Check stored photo author, copyright and keyword fields — Inventory actual XMP and IPTC creator, rights and keyword values, preserve Unicode and repeats, and export a reviewable handoff without treating declarations as proof of ownership.
- EXIF viewer and exports — Inspect the stored camera, location and caption fields.
- Remove selected metadata — Create a verified static-image copy with supported categories removed.
- Choose another file operation — Browse available tools by task.
