Practical guide
Parse A1111 generation settings without losing the original text
A comma inside a quoted model name or extension value is not a new setting. Parse a defined complex text sample, check its exact seed and decoded multiline value, then keep the original so no unrecognized setting disappears.

Use saved text, not an assumed recipe
Download a1111.txt or open the parameters tool's text section and click Try complex parameters. This is a self-authored parsing fixture with invented prompts, model strings and an extension value. It does not require a PNG or a generator, and the tool never runs the settings.
The supported syntax separates positive prompt text, an optional line beginning Negative prompt:, and a trailing settings section with at least three key/value pairs including a generation-setting anchor. Quoted strings and balanced parentheses, brackets and braces keep their inner commas. The parser does not add upstream defaults, apply styles or reconstruct absent extension behavior.

Parse the complex sample and check the boundaries
Step 1
Load the stored text into the paste section
Open Stable Diffusion PNG info, find Or paste A1111 parameters text, paste the downloaded a1111.txt and click Parse parameters text. Alternatively click Try complex parameters. A read result should contain nine saved settings.
Step 2
Keep both multiline prompt sections
Positive prompt is Synthetic café, (paper camera:1.2) followed by Second positive line. Negative prompt is blur, text, (bad hands, fingers) followed by Second negative line. Commas inside those prompts are part of the prompts, not a flat list of settings.
Step 3
Compare the exact seed with the original
Seed (exact string) must read 18446744073709551615. It remains a string, without rounding, scientific notation or a JavaScript Number conversion. Compare all digits in Original parameters text and in the downloaded original.
Step 4
Inspect quoted and unknown values
Expand All saved settings. Model becomes the single value fictional, model.safetensors. Hires prompt decodes an escaped newline and quotation marks. Extension data stays an unknown retained setting with its complete structured-looking text; the tool does not invoke an extension or decide what it would do.
Expected parsed settings
| Stored setting | Parsed result | Check |
|---|---|---|
| Steps / CFG scale / Sampler | 24 / 7.5 / DPM++ 2M | Values are read from this text, with no runtime behavior inferred. |
| Seed | 18446744073709551615 | Exact 20-digit string |
| Model | fictional, model.safetensors | Quoted comma stays inside one model value. |
| Hires prompt | line one, (quoted) line two "camera" | Escaped newline and quotes decode without splitting the setting. |
| Extension data | {"a":[1,2],"b":"x,y"} | Unknown setting retained; brackets and quoted comma stay intact. |
| Model hash | synthetic123 | A fictional stored declaration, not an authenticated model identity. |
Save original text and preserve warnings
Step 1
Copy the section you actually need
Copy positive prompt and Copy negative prompt copy only those parsed sections. Copy original parameters preserves the entire input, including all settings and their original escaping. Review the intended scope before pasting into another application.
Step 2
Download a recoverable original
Click Download original parameters. The resulting original-parameters.txt should match a1111.txt character for character. Shortened previews never justify shortened downloads, and a parsed display is not a replacement for the source text.
Step 3
Keep duplicate and unparsed settings visible
If the same setting key occurs twice, both occurrences remain in All saved settings and a warning reports the duplicate. Convenience fields use the first occurrence. Incomplete quotes/brackets or uninterpreted fragments produce warnings when a settings section can be recognized. Keep those fragments with the original instead of guessing a replacement value.
Try an unrecognized text and an empty input
Click Try unrecognized text. It contains prompt-like text without a supported settings section, so the result is unrecognized and the full original remains available. An empty paste instead produces empty. Neither case fills in seed, steps or a model from defaults or image dimensions.
Pasted text is limited to 1 MiB, 512 settings and 64 candidate settings sections. A limit stops processing explicitly. Reading an actual PNG adds the separate PNG chunk/text limits. A readable seed and model name do not guarantee reproducibility: software versions, extension behavior, missing resources and other generation conditions are not reconstructed by this parser.

Continue with your file
- Handle missing stored text — A parser cannot recreate values the file never retained.
- Edit a selected text occurrence deliberately — Changing a declaration changes metadata; it does not regenerate the image or authenticate the new value.
- Choose a PNG text or structure task — Field reading, container inspection and writing have different outputs.
