Remove GPS and rebuild a limited camera EXIF record
Create a JPEG copy without its original GPS directory. The tool rebuilds EXIF from the camera allowlist below and removes whole XMP, IPTC/Photoshop, APP11, unknown APP1, comment and trailing-data containers. Their non-location fields are removed too. Your original stays unchanged.
Compressed JPEG image bytes and embedded ICC profiles are copied. A retained EXIF orientation field keeps its original value. MakerNote, thumbnails, author, descriptions, serial numbers and unknown EXIF fields are discarded. Other custom storage may still contain location information; this is not a guarantee of anonymity.
Up to 20 MiB. Static JPEG only; multi-picture files are rejected. Browser acceptance: Chromium; Safari and Firefox have not yet been checked. Processing is local with no image upload. Project-authored 4×3 JPEG with fictional GPS and camera claims. It is not a real camera capture.
Exact camera-field allowlist
Only existing, readable fields with supported types and counts can be retained. The first valid duplicate is used. An incomplete EXIF block is removed entirely.

Supported files and output
Static JPEG only, up to 20 MiB. This operation builds fresh EXIF from the displayed safe camera-field allowlist and removes original GPS, MakerNote, unknown EXIF fields and embedded thumbnails. It also removes entire XMP, IPTC, APP11 credential, unknown APP1, comment and trailing-data categories. Compressed image scans and ICC profiles stay unchanged. Other custom locations and visible image content can remain; review the listed impact before downloading.
Read the result with its coverage
Stored fields can be edited, copied or removed. A successful read describes the selected file’s supported containers; missing fields cannot be recovered from its pixels. A damaged or unsupported container has its own result. Review private values before copying or sharing a report.
These file operations run locally. The separate image checker can send file-header data and a reduced image copy for a model reading. Read the method and limitations when that is the task you need.
