Local JPEG GPS reader
Read the GPS fields actually stored in a JPEG
View coordinates, hemisphere references, altitude, UTC time and original rational values. This tool reads JPEG EXIF on your device. It does not request a map or upload the photo.
Up to 20 MB. JPEG only in this release. Project-authored 4×3 JPEG with fictional GPS and camera claims. It is not a real camera capture. Missing GPS does not establish where a photo was taken or whether all location information is absent.
Coordinate conversion
Convert DMS and decimal degrees locally
Type a coordinate or use a valid value read from the image. No map, geocoding service or image upload is used. Empty input stays empty; it never becomes 0,0.
Supported files and output
JPEG EXIF only, up to 20 MiB. The viewer keeps raw rational pairs beside any derived decimal coordinates, direction, altitude and GPS UTC time. Invalid values and missing fields remain distinct. It does not request maps or geocoding services. PNG and WebP GPS reading are not enabled in this first version.
Read the result with its coverage
Stored fields can be edited, copied or removed. A successful read describes the selected file’s supported containers; missing fields cannot be recovered from its pixels. A damaged or unsupported container has its own result. Review private values before copying or sharing a report.
These file operations run locally. The separate image checker can send file-header data and a reduced image copy for a model reading. Read the method and limitations when that is the task you need.

- Photo privacy: inspect fields, choose a removal policy, recheck the copy — Choose local tools for photo GPS and sharing privacy. Follow three reproducible, self-authored examples from stored GPS to a checked JPEG copy.
- Find GPS coordinates stored in a photo — Read JPEG EXIF GPS degrees, minutes, seconds and hemisphere references locally; check altitude, UTC time, and invalid or missing coordinates.
- EXIF viewer and exports — Inspect the stored camera, location and caption fields.
