Local exact-file grouping
Find files with exactly the same bytes
Group by SHA-256 and verify matching file bytes. Different names can belong to one group; identical names with different contents remain separate. This does not find visually similar pictures or delete originals.
The synthetic set contains two differently named copies and a third file with the same name but different metadata bytes. Files are read sequentially and stay on your device.
Supported files and output
Up to 20 files and 100 MiB total, sequential reads with a 20 MiB individual limit. Groups equal SHA-256 and size only after an additional exact byte comparison. Different names can match and equal names can differ. Partial failures and cancellation retain one row per selected file; original names are omitted from exports by default. No file is deleted and visual similarity is not measured.
Read the result with its coverage
Stored fields can be edited, copied or removed. A successful read describes the selected file’s supported containers; missing fields cannot be recovered from its pixels. A damaged or unsupported container has its own result. Review private values before copying or sharing a report.
These file operations run locally. The separate image checker can send file-header data and a reduced image copy for a model reading. Read the method and limitations when that is the task you need.

- Image file checks: format, dimensions, hashes and defined pixel differences — Choose a local file check for container type, display dimensions, exact duplicate bytes or native-size sRGB RGBA differences, with three reproducible synthetic scenes.
- Exact duplicate files versus decoded pixel matches — Find differently named byte-identical files, keep same-name variants separate, and compare native-size sRGB RGBA with explicit orientation, alpha and color conditions.
- EXIF viewer and exports — Inspect the stored camera, location and caption fields.
- Remove selected metadata — Create a verified static-image copy with supported categories removed.
- Choose another file operation — Browse available tools by task.
